A Beautiful Darkness — For David
This piece was created in memory of David Lynch on what would have been his 80th birthday. It is a dark ambient piece created with a variety of hardware synthesizers and effects, recorded into Logic Pro. All writing, recording, mixing, and mastering completed by myself.
Process and gear notes
I make music in my home studio via a hybrid process: vintage reel to reel and cassette 4-track recorders, hardware synthesizers and effects, a variety of analogue instruments, and field recordings. All of these are fed into Logic Pro and then processed further via sample rate reduction, various plug-ins, etc, before being mixed and mastered for release.
Most songs start with a feeling, question, or reflection that sticks with me — much like what shows up for my clients in therapy and coaching sessions.
